As a community of outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism in our region, we at Explore Genesee Valley are excited to be part of the New York State Yoga Festival this year!

Explore Genesee Valley is a digital map guide created by locals, to promote travel that celebrates and sustains what is most distinctive about the Genesee Valley through the voices of the people that live here. Through this project, we aim to foster long-term economic and environmental vitality through the preservation and promotion of our region's unique natural, cultural and heritage assets.

At this year’s festival, we can’t wait to show off all that the Genesee Valley has to offer, from the gorge at Letchworth to the little shops in our rural communities to off-the-beaten-track experiences that only locals know.  Being able to connect with other outdoor enthusiasts is what it’s all about - in our region we have some of New York States’ best kept outdoor recreation secrets and we look forward to sharing these with other nature lovers at the Festival. 

Why do we love the outdoors? As a rural area, nature and the outdoors are what define our way of life - they’re part of our DNA. These assets are also helping us revitalize our rural economy by attracting visitors to our area to recreate, which in turn provides new economic opportunities for the small towns surrounding popular outdoor destinations like Letchworth State Park. 

When we think about how outdoor recreation and Explore Genesee Valley are connected to yoga, we see an immediate link between the practice of yoga and the space that nature creates for reflection, mindfulness, and self-discovery. Through our brand, we hope to connect with and encourage like-minded individuals to retreat outdoors and explore what’s around them!
